Touch &Release
Guiding people to touch more everyday to relieve inner stress
Project Brief
In today’s high-pressure society, people often try to conform to social expectations, adjusting their behavior to align with external standards. However, this tendency to conform can lead to emotional stress and self-doubt. This project aims to advocate for tactile experiences, encouraging individuals to integrate touch into their daily lives as a way to alleviate the burden caused by societal pressure and self-performance.

Design Goals
Touch is widely recognized as a natural method for relieving stress. To promote this, I design an artistic installation that imbues the act of touch with a unique sense of ritual, inspiring people to actively engage in tactile activities daily.

Process
How to guide people to touch effectively?

I would like to effectively guide people to touch, so I plan to design an object that allows the wrist to rest comfortably on it, creating a natural and intuitive interaction that encourages people to touch without conscious effort.

How To Create A Sense of Ritual In Touch

I would like my design to evoke a sense of ritual, so I incorporated a tilted angle that encourages people to touch it in a posture reminiscent of praying, creating an intentional and meaningful interaction.
Materials Exploration
I choose wood and metal enhances the ritual of daily touch by combining sensory and symbolic elements. Together, they elevate touch into an intentional and memorable experience, encouraging mindfulness and purpose.
