Mobile Shower Chair

Helping paralyzed people who are unable to move on their own take shower

Inspiration

My grandfather is bedridden due to paralysis and limited space at home makes it hard for us to help him move. Without proper bathing facilities, he can’t bathe regularly, leading to discomfort and tension in our family. I would like to design a safe, comfortable, and mobile shower chair to support both paralyzed individuals and their caregivers.

Current Problems

Lack of suitable shower facilities

There’s a need for safe, easy-to-use, space-saving bathing aids for paralyzed people, to help caregivers assist them in the bathroom.

Limited Space At Home

Many homes are too small to have accessible showering options for people who can’t move on their own.

Concept

Paralyzed individuals who are unable to move on their own often can not bathe regularly. This lack of regular hygiene impacts their physical health, causes psychological issues, and increases family stress. Designing a mobile shower chair for paralyzed individuals is crucial; its personalized design meets their special care needs, improving their physical and mental health.

Because the seat of the chair is concave, I feel very stable, comfortable, and safe when sitting on it. I feel the surface of seat is a bit hard. The surface of seat needs to use softer and non-slip materials.
